Frank Sorauf Collection

June 18 - October 15, 2000

Weisman Art Museum

A Scholar Collects: Pueblo Pottery from the Frank Sorauf Collection is the second in a series featuring the fine art collections of University of Minnesota faculty members. Frank Sorauf, a professor in political science from 1961 until his retirement in June 1996, has crafted a collection of art of the American Southwest, particularly the pottery of the Pueblo Indians. The 32 works date from about 1875 to the present. A Scholar Collects offers a personal approach to Pueblo pottery, representing a lifetime of a collectorÕs passionate search for the objects he loves and for information about them.
