Rapson developed an octagonal "church- in-the-round" scheme for St. PeterŐs Lutheran Church, placing the altar in the center of the worship space. This innovative plan reflects the congregationŐs "liturgical philosophy of the family of man gathered around the LordŐs table." Eight steeply pitched, glass-filled gables rise from the sanctuary to form a star-shaped roof. Natural light fills the interior.
