The bandaji was the most widely used type of chest. It was a common
piece in the Korean house, most Korean families had at least one.
The bandaji is characterized by a front door that opens downward.
This allowed for access to items in the chest while other items could
be stacked on top. Most bandaji were used to store clothes although
some were used to hold books and manuscripts.
