teachers & students: workshops for teachers

tours curriculum workshops

Professional development workshops and sessions are offered for both in-service and pre-service teachers. Let us work with your district or site to support your efforts to infuse art into the curriculum.

Tours for Teachers
Arrange a guided visit for your team of educators. Tour guides will focus on the kinds of engaging activities available for students. Connections can be made to your thematic curriculum. Must be at least 10 participants, $2 per visitor.

Artful Writing Teacher Workshop
This two hour in-service workshop can be presented at the museum or at a school location. Teachers explore notions of literacy, and receive an overview of the Artful Writing resources. The session includes 10 Artful Writing Classroom Resource Kits. Additional kits can be purchased separately, Groups of 10 or more. $250. per session.

Artful Writing Teacher Institute
This in-depth, multiple-session museum workshop allows teachers to work closely with Artful Writing resources. Teachers receive the Artful Writing Classroom Resource Kit and work in the galleries, to practice activities, and plan art-infused experiences for their students. Participants earn 12 CEUs. $100 per teacher.

Trio Institute
2007: The Art of Literacy at WAM, WAC and MIA This five-day summer institute supports teachers as they work and learn at the Weisman, the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Each summer a different learning theme is featured. CEUs and two graduate credits are available through Hamline University. $150 per teacher.

Custom Designed Teacher Workshops
Looking for a creative site and content for your professional development sessions? We will work with you to share our strengths and connect with your school or district goals. Fees vary.
