Launched in 2007, the artsounds annual music composition competition is open to students enrolled in the School of Music at the University of Minnesota. Students select an artwork on view from the museum’s permanent collection and develop an original musical composition in any style-up to five minutes in length-in response. The next submission deadline is March 2009. Download the application and guidelines here. The artsounds student competition is a collaboration between the Weisman and the School of Music.
